As part of our ongoing effort to interest the public in our hobby, the ECRDA gave a presentation at the Wayne (NJ) Library recently to a very interested audience. Joe Jorgensen, Andy Ciffer, Pete Schichtel and Paul Havemann brought plenty of exhibits of items found by the club over the years.
The tables were loaded with frames displaying coins, Native American artifacts, Colonial relics including buttons and shoe buckles, and much more. Part of the display included bottles and other items retrieved from a “kitchen midden” dig at the long-gone Mandeville Inn in Pompton Plains NJ.
Our goals in doing such presentations are twofold: To educate the public about our hobby, and to encourage others to try it for themselves. We were pleased to see such interest from the public, and invited them to our next meeting.
